Dr. John Mitchell – Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Stanford University
Dr. John Mitchell, Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Stanford University
Dr. John Mitchell is the Mary and Gordon Cary Family professor in the Stanford Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department. John’s research on computer security focuses on identity theft, Web and network security, trust management and distributed access control. John is also the director of The Stanford Computer Forum, a cooperative venture that encourages collaboration between the Computer Science Department, the Computer Systems Laboratory, and the Information Systems Laboratory at Stanford, and more than 60 companies located in Silicon Valley, the rest of the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
The author of several programming books, John holds a B.S. from Stanford University and a M.S. and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Sachar Paulus – Former Senior Vice President of Product Security, SAP
Dr. Sachar Paulus, former senior vice president of product security at SAP and former chief security officer of the SAP group, is a recognized thought leader in the security community. He is member of key advisory organizations of the EU commission regarding information security and security research. He is now a part-time professor for Security Management at University of Brandenburg, where he leads a competence centre for security qualification and industry cooperation.
Before joining SAP in 2000, Sachar worked as a consultant for SECUDE GmbH and KOBIL Systems GmbH, as well as doing cryptography research for the Institute of Experimental Mathematics at Essen University, where he received his Ph.D. in number theory and at the Department for Theoretical Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Technology. Sachar received a M.S. in computer science from the University of Saarland.
Dan Schoenbaum – Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development, Tripwire
Dan Schoenbaum, vice president of marketing and corporate development at Tripwire, is charged with leading key marketing and business development initiatives that support Tripwire's continued strong growth and global market leadership. In addition to heading the advisory board at Cenzic, Dan is currently on The Board of Directors at Compassoft, the market leader for enterprise spreadsheet risk management and control.
Previously Dan served as chairman of Mergers and Acquisitions and vice president of Strategy at Compuware Corporation, a billion dollar software and professional services company. Prior to Compuware, Dan held executive positions at SeeRun Corporation and Mercury Interactive. Dan received a B.S. in marketing and advertising from The American University and Tel Aviv University's Political Science Program.
Craig Weinstock – Co-Founder & Partner, White Pine Consulting Group
Craig Weinstock co-founded White Pine Consulting Group in January 2001 to provide impact marketing and business development strategy and execution services for venture capital backed technology companies. Craig and White Pine have helped accelerate the growth and development of over 70 companies since its inception. Craig brings 20 years of experience leading high-growth technology and services businesses.
Before starting White Pine, Craig was a Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Sales and Marketing for Plural, a 600 person e-business consulting and development firm. Craig's efforts lead to Plural achieving Microsoft Solution Partner of the Year in 1999 and receiving a $35 million investment from Microsoft. Prior to Plural, Craig served Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Carleton Corporation, which achieved 90% CAGR under Craig's leadership. Craig holds a B.A. in economics and finance from St. Olaf College.
