Summary:

A vulnerability in versions of PHP (4.4.2, 5.1.4) allows a remote attacker to bypass Safe mode restrictions under certain conditions.

Technical Details:

A vulnerability in PHP versions 4.4.2 and 5.1.4 in the error_log() function allows a remote attacker to bypass safe mode restrictions. A user can provide specially crafted data to the PHP error_log() function and gain unauthorized access to files on the target system. A user with the privilege to load arbitrary PHP code, or with the ability to specify parameters for an error_log() function, can exploit this vulnerability and obtain read/write access to restricted files on the system running the vulnerable version of PHP.
