Summary:

A vulnerability in ASP.NET 2.0 allows a remote attacker to perform Cross-Site Scripting attacks.

Technical Details:

A vulnerability in .NET 2.0 allows an attacker to launch Cross-Site Scripting attacks against applications with the AutoPostBack control set to "true". The default of configuration of .NET 2.0 security controls do not set the AutoPostBack property to true, so only those applications with this functionality specifically enabled are vulnerable to attack. As a workaround, set AutoPostBack to "false" until the security fix is applied.

Solution:

Apply the appropriate security fix from Microsoft.
