[CIA-1065-Alert] Novell eDirectory\iMonitor Host Header Buffer Overflow

Summary:

A vulnerability in Novell eDirectory 8.8.1 may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the eDirectory server.

Technical Details:

A remote attacker can execute malicious code on the eDirectory server by sending a malformed HTTP Host header, resulting in a buffer overflow. Code that is executed in this manner will execute with the privileges of the Novell Directory Services process, typically NT_AUTHORITY\System privileges.

Novell has released a security fix for this vulnerability, 8.8.1 FTF1. Acquire the security fix via the Novell Support website.
